Federico Garcia Lorca, a brilliant writer of absence, of lyrical sadness and death, foresaw his own violent death during the Spanish Civil War. His poems are frequently written in extended metaphor and his plays “the poetry that rises from the page and becomes human”.

In this tribute we see a reference to the song of the sparrow, a plain small bird comparable to Lorca but who constantly and bravely wrote plays and poems aimed directly at the Fascists attempting to seize power.

The notes of the sparrow, Lorca’s words and his guitar, are swiftly matched to leaves or paper to be hung around the forest (Spain) as the shining truth. He was always in a hurry to write and distribute his words since he never knew when he would be killed.
