The odor of beer and tequila

mixes with the color of bills

as bets are placed on the cocks

daggers strapped to their talons

handlers hold and thrust

the angry birds at one another

Then it’s time for the fight

Red Rooster against White Dragon

a flash of red as the bird leaps

slashes at the Dragon

who somersaults up

to gore the Red leg

First blood and a furious bird

flies at the Dragon

who meets it mid flight

blood spurts from each bird’s breast

Red backs away for a moment

Dragon somersaults again

to slice the Red’s neck

Fight over

bright bills exchange hands

someone belches tequila

another farts beer
